Desert Cantos draws inspiration from landscapes shaped by the arid climate. For quite some time, I have held a special fascination for its minimalist flora — delicate yet incredibly detailed. The fragile flowers that bloom on aggressive cacti are a perfect example.

Over the years, I have experimented with various illustration styles, yet none quite captured the naturalness, simplicity, warmth, and naivety I sought like these modest strokes originating from sketches. Their impact is further enriched by being rendered in a 3D software space, creating a more deep and immersive experience.

After six months of trial and error, I have finally settled on a style. The result is a serene visual journey through sequences of images spanning mountains and valleys, culminating in a gathering of small creatures.
Every stroke is hand-drawn — absolutely no AI involved. A print collection will be available soon, alongside a new series entitled "sketch in motion" that is currently underway.

The name Desert Cantos comes from the rock slow core band Early Day Miners. In my earlier days, somewhat naively,
I associated their song title "Desert Cantos" with "desert charms". That track always conveyed a sense of serenity and a voyage through arid landscapes, which inspired me to name my work accordingly.
